Camp meets Monday-Friday, 1-4pm eastern (12-3pm Central, 11am-2pm Mountain, 10am-1pm Pacific)

You may register for full week, or customize  by registering for specific days.

In order to register for more than one specific day:

first, register for one day, then, when you get to the check out page, click on "register another participant for same program" and that will allow you to select a second day (for the same camper!), and then repeat for third specific day, etc.  You can add several items to your shopping cart before you check out and complete one payment for all items in your cart.

Description

Camp meets Monday-Friday, 1-4pm eastern (12-3pm Central, 11am-2pm Mountain, 10am-1pm Pacific)

Theme:  This week we will examine the lives and games of grandmasters from the golden age to present.

Where: Mr. Garrison's Virtual Chess Room at zoom.com and www.lichess.org  (details below) 

Instructors:  National Master Tony Nichols and Candidate Master Ray Garrison

Who:  Open to all campers age 5 through 18

You may join the full week or customize specific days

Each camp day will be include a mix of engaging instruction and lichess tournament play, including variants.  Campers will sometimes be combined, and other times will be grouped by skill level.  Camp is open to all school grades regardless of level.  

 

Knowledge Requirement:  Each student should be familiar with the basic rules of chess.  Your child may quickly learn how to play here:  https://lichess.org/learn#/

 

Requirements:  Each student will need their own device and a good internet connection. We also recommend each device have a camera, but this is not a requirement.  Each student will need a free account at www.lichess.org
